Health and Safety in a Construction Environment (CSCS)

The planning, design, construction and maintenance of the built environment requires highly skilled and creative individuals. St Eds Training Centre provides the knowledge, skills and opportunity for you to become that person.

The Multi-Skilled Construction Course is at beginner level, teaching you how the construction industry works, introducing you to the skills and knowledge required to achieve a successful and well paid career in this dynamic sector. This provides a starting point for anyone wishing to work as a traditional tradesperson/craftsperson, or anyone seeking employment within the planning, management or development of the built environment.

This course covers training in carpentry, bricklaying, painting and decorating, plumbing, tiling and plastering. You will learn about the construction process from start to finish. And by working closely with our partner employers and sponsors, you get the opportunity to apply newly-learned skills to real projects.

The trade-specific Bricklaying course provides the student with knowledge of building construction, block laying, cavity wall activities and Health and Safety.

We are also now able to provide a 6 week Health and Safety course, which is suitable for a young person wanting to start a career on a building site and be handed a CSCS card.

“I love when my students have gained the practical skills and knowledge to complete tasks with competence and initiative. This shows they have grown in self-esteem and gained confidence in their abilities. It allows them to complete their assessments to a high standard”.
