National Careers Week – Day 1

    By St Eds,

    5th March 2018

This week we must celebrate National Careers Week.

National Careers Week is run by a non-profit company and aids in promoting the important of good careers education in schools and colleges. National Careers Week is supported by a vast amount of volunteers with a wealth of experience from education, business and careers guidance.

To support National Careers Week we will be posting daily on how we support careers guidance at St Edmunds Society, lots of resources you can use to support yourselves or others in finding your perfect career path along with discussing our courses available to young people of all backgrounds.

The two major things that we believe we shine from in terms of vocational education is the quality of our Welfare department, with onsite Social Worker, along with our support given to students for Careers, Advice and Guidance.

Serena our Study Programme Manager/CIAG is always available to support with careers information to our students. The Careers team support students in making them ‘work ready’. We can support students with CV writing, time management and health and safety units in the workplace. The guidance students usually appreciate more is CV writing, support with job applications, interview support and help in looking into next steps for the individual. No one student is the same as the next, we understand they all have different and varied needs and wants.

We have lots of resources available to our students so that they do not struggle to find employment or further education after they gain qualifications with us, a student is never just left to find work themselves. We pride ourselves in the support we give to our students.

Don’t forget to check-in with us daily on more about the National Careers Week and how we support our students.
