If you love being in the kitchen and you’d like to develop your passion for food and customer service into a career, this course is perfect for you.

Our popular Catering & Hospitality Course will teach you all about the diversity of the catering and hospitality industry, and what it’s like to work with food.

You will gain a wide range of skills, including the importance of health and safety in the kitchen. You will also learn about customer service, basic food hygiene, food preparation and customer service. And learning isn’t just in the classroom, you will get to celebrate diversity as part of the course, by providing catering for cultural events.

You will be providing practical catering for your fellow students who are enrolled here on other courses, as well as St Eds staff, creating a real working kitchen experience. You will learn how to develop menus, understand dietary requirements and how to prepare and cook meals in a live kitchen environment.

This is a practical, hands-on course that will give you all the skills you need to start your career in this exciting and growing industry, or continue onto a Level 2 course.

Tom is our Catering Tutor at St Eds. Before joining the team, Tom worked as a chef for 6 years in Scotland. His proudest achievement is being awarded a Great Taste Award whilst Head Chef at Drewtons Estate for his Sticky Toffee Pudding. He admires the hard work and passion of people in the catering industry, and enjoys sharing his passion with the next generation.
