Our story
At St-Eds, we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive.
Founded in 1965, St-Eds began its journey as a homeless charity, providing safe places for people to stay overnight. However, we soon realised that while offering shelter met an immediate need, it wasn’t enough. People needed the skills and opportunities to build better futures for themselves.
In response, we began offering practical training and education, helping individuals gain valuable employment and independence. Over the years, our focus evolved, and by 2012, St-Eds had fully transformed into a vocational learning centre, dedicated to equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and support they need to succeed.
Today, we provide hands-on, employer-led training for both school-age learners and post-16 students, with vocational pathways in:
Construction and Bricklaying
Catering and Hospitality
Hair and Beauty
Health and Social Care
Mechanics
Alongside these, all learners work towards essential Maths and English qualifications.
St-Eds is more than just a training centre, it’s a community where young people are supported to believe in themselves, gain confidence, and become part of the skilled workforce of tomorrow.
