Our project aims to support children and families to overcome family breakdown and individual challenges, to re-engage in education and training, by providing outreach welfare support to families and young people across Norfolk. We can help students with behavioural, emotional and mental health issues, getting to the root of the problems and giving these young people a brighter future.

What are we trying to achieve?
We want to help more young people to understand and improve hard to manage behaviours, support students to address social, mental, emotional and physical needs and build and maintain an atmosphere in which students feel secure, encouraged in their learning, and know that they are valued within a healthy and safe environment.
This will enable these young people to begin to achieve both their potential and aspiration by improving confidence in their own ability, with consequential benefits in personal participation and attendance.

Who do we work with?
We work with schools across Norfolk offering vocational opportunities for students who may struggle in mainstream school or face exclusions due to disruptive behaviour. This work is preventative, to help young people find their feet before going down the wrong path, or homelessness.
- In a schools we are working with, we have seen massive improvements in attendance of students , from less than 70% attendance last academic year, to more than 90% now.

How will the money help?
We are now encouraged to offer access to our Outreach Support to parents and carers struggling with a young person’s needs. We have identified that there are many families who could benefit from support but do not have the finances available to pay for this themselves.
This money would allow us to widen the provision we offer out to families across Norfolk, working with parents and young people, to help those struggling with emotional difficulties, with low self-esteem and/or confidence, displaying risk-taking behaviours, in family breakdown or refusing or struggling to engage with professional support.
“I would just like to say thankyou for all your help with everything. You have literally gone above and beyond to help me and no words will ever be enough to say how grateful and thankful I am for all the for all that you have done for me.
It’s so nice to actually have somebody supporting me and my daughter for once, somebody that has listened and gone out there way to guide us through the correct paths.“
